this week's band war: Batty patrol vs. Nigger Patrol
split 7" on rebessicords.
tracks:
NP1: cold dark matter
NP2: sweatshop jailbait
NP3: blacky trouble
---------------------
BP1: some of my best friends are dead
BP2: Frankie Says...
BP3: Rimmin'!
Blurb:
after fighting endless wars on the streets of Lewes, rival gangs Batty Patrol (homophobic Jamaican ragga) and Nigger patrol (aka The Gay Mafia, playing white-supremacist indie and/or metal) largely put aside their violence and learnt to rock. now they only fight on-stage, and on this forthcoming exploitational and conceptual e.p. which hopefully we'll get around to doing one day.

dude, you forgot the le tigre cover!
also, "some of my friends are dead" is the best title ever. after sweatshop jailbait of course
also, can we have a dnb remix ep by 'nip squad'?
what about merchandise? how about "i shot carlo giuliani" tshirts?
"i sold Lea Betts ecstasy"
i'm working on demo of "midweek cd purchase", formerly "my new riff with the twiddly metal bit in". the lyrics really fit quite well over it.
that's funny, i was just thinking how we could be even more offensive by letting batty patrol have a palestinian guest vocalist.
(out of all the homophobes in the world, you have to choose the palestinians?)
this is based on an argument on newsnight ages ago, when a gay rights campaigner was banned from turning up at a freedom for palestine demo because he pointed out that they were in fact dreadful to their homosexual contingent (although he was alsoprotesting for their freedom too). he didn't see the problem with recognising that it was a complex issue, while the head of the anti-war movement was made to look really unfair because she seemed to be saying that solidarity was more important than pluralism, and that a freedom for plaestine demo wasn't the forum to discuss how palestinians treat their minority groups.
it's a funny old world.
